    • Androecium — the stamens, collectively
    • Gynoecium — the pistils, collectively
    • Perianth — the sepals and petals as a single unit
    • Tepals — used when sepals and petals look identical

    Glossary

    Dioecious — having only female unisexual flowers on one individual plant and only male individual flowers on another individual plant. In other words, a species is dioecious if there are separate female and male individuals, as with most vertebrates.

    Monoecious — having both unisexual male and female flowers on the same individual plant

    Sessile — having no stalk
