Self-Guided Tour Stop E

Stop E - Donnelley and Lee Library and Mohr Student Center

The library and student center, located on Middle Campus, are two of the most popular spots on campus.

Donnelley and Lee Library

The library features three distinct floors for different types of work. The basement holds over 200,000 books and other printed work, the Archives & Special Collections office, the Visual Communications office, and a large silent study space. The main floor is open to group-work and the 24/7 Computer Lab and printers, as well as the Research & Circulation Desk and the Cyber Cafe. The second floor is meant for quiet independent work, as well as a larger PC lab and Mac lab with multiple study rooms (you can see some study rooms hanging off the edge while walking through the main floor!)

Mohr Student Center

Mohr Student Center is the heart of Middle Campus; there is food, entertainment, and student resources all over this building! The main Student Center hub houses our dining options, including the Market at Boomer’s, Boomer’s Cafe (with Cinco Antijitos, and whatever the sandwich line is called), and Gus and Margie Hart Dining Hall (affectionately known as “The Caf”).

  • Gates Center: Across from the main cafeteria is the Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth. The Gates Center assists all Greek Life and student organizations, oversees volunteer trips, New Student Orientation, and all special events on campus.
  • Bookstore: The Mohr Student Center also contains our campus bookstore (where you can pick up some new Forester gear!), our student, faculty, staff, and community member-led radio station (WMXM 88.9FM), and our mail services.
  • Wood Lounge: Across from the Senior 25 Lounge is the Calvin Durand Wood Lounge, which is a 24/7 silent study space for all students on campus, as well as a venue for events such as Open House, choir concerts, special guest lectures, and more!
  • Center for Chicago Programs and Global Engaement Office: Next to the Calvin Durand Wood Lounge is the Center for Chicago Programs and our Global Engagement Office. The CCP connects students to our In the Loop Internship Program, the ACTIVATE: Summer Internship Program, and other opportunities to study or visit interesting spots in the city of Chicago. The Global Engagement Office similarly connects students with study abroad opportunities, in which we have over 200 programs in over 70 countries.
