Two Chicago Mentors Scholars will receive an annual scholarship that will meet any remaining need not covered by gift aid and federal loans. In addition to receiving the scholarship, Chicago Mentors Scholars will be assigned a mentor by the College. This mentor will provide scholars with professional development and networking opportunities. The Chicago Mentors Scholarship will be awarded on top of existing Lake Forest financial aid.
Who is eligible?
Selection is limited to economically disadvantaged first-year students from Chicago who will enter the College in the Fall of 2024. Students must be eligible for the Forester Flagship Grant, which is awarded to students who receive the Federal Pell Grant and commit to a four-year residential requirement at Lake Forest College. Additionally, students must uphold academic excellence, provide evidence of extracurricular involvement and special talent, and demonstrate a strong interest in the College.
How do I apply?
Students must apply for admission to Lake Forest by the February 15 admission deadline and submit the FAFSA to be considered. No separate scholarship application is required. A cohort of admission counselors and faculty members will select the scholarship recipients.
