Post a Job or Internship

Bring Forester talent to your organization.

Hire with us on Handshake, a modern platform for college recruiting used by nearly 1 million employers and 15 million students. On Handshake, employers can post jobs and internships to a wide audience and review applicants in a convenient portal.

The instructions below are for companies and organizations. To post a household job such as babysitting, elder care, or tutoring, please review our list of suggested resources.

Step 1. Register for a Handshake account (one-time setup)

  • Register: Visit https://app.joinhandshake.com/register and select the Employer account type from the options presented. You will be asked to enter your recruiting interests and alma mater, agree to the Employer Guidelines, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.
    • Handshake will send you a verification email to the email you provided. If you do not receive the email, make sure to check your “spam” folder.
  • Connect with your company: After confirming your email, if your company already exists, Handshake should prompt you to connect with your organization. You can also use a search bar to find your company or click the “Create New Company” button.

Step 2. Post your position (as easy as 1, 2, 3!)

Now that you are on Handshake, you can post any time you have an opening! Find additional details about how to post positions on Handshake's help page.

  1. Log in to Handshake and click “Post a Job” on your home dashboard. Handshake will ask a series of questions to ensure you source the best candidates for your role.
  2. Add “Lake Forest College” when you are selecting schools where you would like to post your opportunity.
  3. Review your posting and Click “Post Job” in the top right. Once you complete the form, your posting will be reviewed by the Gorter Family Career Advancement Center and then published to share with students and alumni.

Once your position is posted, we recommend emailing your Handshake posting to careers@lakeforest.edu so we can ensure it is promptly approved and share it with our team of career advisors.
