Forester Day of Service

Lake Forest College Students on a Day of Service

Each year, the Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth organizes a campus-wide day of service where Lake Forest College students, faculty, and staff volunteer their Saturday to serve the community.

The 2025 Forester Day of Service is on Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Forester Day of Service is the College’s annual college-wide service program. We are happy to continue our tradition of serving the community of North Chicago and Waukegan through our partnership with North Chicago Community Partners.

The theme for the Forester Day of Service is “A Day in the Life of a College Student.” 150 elementary school students are coming to the College to experience an immersive college experience. Each student will be paired with a Lake Forest College volunteer and receive an activity schedule for the day. Together, they will explore a series of engaging activities in Brown Hall and the Lillard Science Center. The day will conclude with an exciting Pep Rally at the Sports and Recreation Center, bringing everyone together for a spirited finale.

As a volunteer, you can be a mentor for an elementary school student or be part of the Production Team and assist with event logistics.
