The Hixon scene shop builds and maintains all the sets, props, costumes, and electrics for theater department productions, and provides assistance, advice, and equipment for other on-campus performances and presentations as needed.
Under the supervision of faculty members with professional experience in design, shop management, and technical direction, students use power tools, sewing machines, paints, lighting instruments, control boards, and plenty of hammers, screws, and glue to build shows to designers’ specifications.
Paid and volunteer positions in the Hixon Scene Shop are open to all Lake Forest College students, regardless of major. Contact the Technical Director for more information.
