Through open communication, pre-season screening, and continued care, we work to keep our student-athletes “in the game” during the rigorous college season.
Strength and Conditioning
Unlike most other Division III schools, Lake Forest College has a dedicated strength and conditioning coordinator whose primary job is to maintain our student-athletes’ peak ability without compromising safety.
Certified Athletic Trainers
Mike Gilboe and Ashley Brown serve as the Foresters’ Certified Athletic Trainers. Gilboe enters his 13th year with the Foresters, while Brown has been with the program since 2012. The Forester Athletic Trainers are based out of two separate offices, one in Halas Hall and one in the Sports Center, where they treat our athletes throughout the year. Learn more here.
Team doctor
Award-winning Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Roger Chams serves as the team doctor for the Foresters. Dr. Chams has also served as the team doctor for the US Soccer Federation Men and Women National Teams. Dr. Chams has been the team doctor for the Foresters for 15 years, and has been awarded “Chicago’s Top Doctor.” Dr. Chams is also selected as one of “America’s Top Orthopedists” by the Consumer Research Counsel of America for the twelfth year in a row.
Concussion screening
At Lake Forest College, every student-athlete participating in a high-impact sport takes a baseline concussion screening. It helps coaches and students stay safe on the field and is part of the Forester commitment to good health and safety. Learn more here.
