From a young age I have always had a wide range of interests, the strongest of which were health science and business. Through a variety of work experiences in both fields, I began to understand the importance of language as tool.

I was fortunate that Lake Forest College offered several courses in Asian studies and Mandarin Chinese, which enabled me to improve both spoken and written Mandarin Chinese, as well as expand my cultural awareness and knowledge of my ethnic heritage.  Moreover, through courses like Business Chinese I was able to expand my vocabulary, allowing me to communicate more effectively with Chinese factories during my time as a marketing intern at MAT Holdings Inc.

Upon completing my degree in Biological Sciences and Chinese at Lake Forest College, I decided to continue my education by pursuing a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at a top ranked program, Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. As a future physician, I am certain that my time spent studying Chinese will prove valuable, allowing me to connect with a more diverse demographic.
