Ying Wu to explore western, Chinese pop culture in History Center talk

Assistant Professor of Chinese Ying Wu will explore western and Chinese pop culture in a virtual talk at the History Center of Lake Forest–Lake Bluff on November 4.
From reality shows to “boy” bands, pop stars to talk shows, Wu will share how Chinese culture has adopted and adapted western models, while creating a uniquely popular (counter) culture all its own.
“East Wind or West Wind? How Popular Culture Changes China in the 21st Century,” will begin at 7 p.m. Registration is required.
This talk is a 2020 Lake Forest Reads: Ragdale event.
