Clubs and campus organizations have been making plans for an engaging semester as remote learning begins this fall.

Creating an engaging remote semester for Forester students is a top priority for Lake Forest College. Campus clubs, organizations, fraternities and sororities, and offices across campus have been working vigorously as they prepare programs for the fall. A robust student experience for the semester ahead has never been more essential.

“The social and emotional well-being of our students is of the utmost importance to us,” shares Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth Aldo Guzman. “We want our students to feel just as connected to each other this semester as they have in the past, if not more. Plans are underway for numerous virtual events with new and exciting ways to connect the campus community.”

The Student Programming Board, responsible for planning and implementing engaging programs during the school year, has also actively been developing ways to keep engagement at an all-time high this semester, even while being remote.

“Students will have the opportunity on September 2 to participate in one of our favorite fall events, the Forester Fair, to kick off the semester and learn about opportunities to get involved,” Guzman added. The Forester Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where students can learn details about the many campus clubs and organizations.

Student Government and intercultural student organizations are also ready to represent the voices of the student body and provide leadership opportunities to the College community as the school year begins. Additionally, fraternity and sorority life are looking forward to being active and engaged with current members, while also planning for future recruitment and philanthropic opportunities this fall.
