Nine education majors were inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education, for 2019.

Inducted were: Paloma Albarran ’19, Yessenia Alvarado Vasquez ’20, Nina Codell ’20, Karen Guido ’20, Deborah Jezuit ’20, Katherine Nolte ’19, Araceli Reyes ’20, Aurora Santos-Santiago ’20, and Keara Schweiger ’19.

“I’m excited to be inducted into the international honor society, and I look forward to growing as a professional in education with the rest of the KDP inductees,” said Codell, an education and English double major who is also minoring in theater.

“Meeting the requirements for membership has made me feel honored and inspired to work diligently for my goal to be a future educator who meets all student needs,” said Alvarado, education and Spanish double major.

Formed in 1911, Kappa Delta Pi is one of the first discipline-specific honor societies. Its mission is to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.
