Loyalty Circle Spotlight: Molly Major ’19

Every donation to Lake Forest College, no matter the amount or frequency, makes a profound impact. This is especially true when younger alumni, who’ve recently begun their career, decide to give back.
Molly Major, class of 2019, is one of the young alumni who has already chosen to give back by establishing a recurring gift through the College’s Loyalty Circle Guardian Society.
A member of the Guardian Society is anyone who establishes a recurring or multi-year pledge of support for the College, which can be monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual. In fact, one quarter of Guardian Society members are graduates of the past five years.
Currently a quality assurance lab analyst for AbbVie Pharmaceuticals, Major chose to give back to the College as a young alumna because she is thankful for how the College set her up for a prosperous future. “The College gave me all the necessary tools to be successful in a job at a top company in my field of interest. Beyond that, I also cannot stress enough how grateful I felt to have support from so many people while at the College. They were better mentors than I could have ever hoped for,” Major shared.
During Major’s tenure at Lake Forest College, she was an active member of Relay for Life, the women’s varsity soccer team, Kappa Alpha Theta, the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, a Richter Scholar, and a teacher assistant for the chemistry department.
“I donate to Lake Forest because I know that my experience led me to a great future and I want other students to be able to have that same experience,” said Major. In addition, she encourages others to give back to the College and “consider their experience, remember how it set them up for success, and think about how they have the opportunity to help others receive a similar experience through giving.”
