Assistant Professor of Economics Linh Pham is co-chairing the first Vietnam Symposium in Climate Transition (VSCT-2023) that will take place from December 14 to 15 in Da Nang, Vietnam.

The Symposium is jointly organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), the University of Danang–University of Economics, and Massey University.  AVSE Global is a Paris-headquartered organization that hosts science and policy forums to bring innovative solutions for the sustainable development of Vietnam.

It is the goal of Symposium organizers to provide a leading forum for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to present their research findings and discuss current and challenging issues in climate transition, environment, and energy change mitigation and adaptation—all areas which represent crossroads of energy, environmental, and climate finance.

The Symposium is also an ideal occasion for Vietnamese scholars to exchange research experiences and develop research projects with their international colleagues.

“Through the organization of the symposium, I had the opportunity to work with researchers and practitioners from all over the world,” Pham said. “I enjoyed learning their perspectives on how different stakeholders can work together to achieve a net-zero carbon emission future. Through the symposium, I look forward to sharing my research projects on sustainable finance, several of which are being conducted with the assistance of Lake Forest College students. I am proud of, and thankful for, all the amazing work they have been doing.”
