Lake Forest College welcomes Mai Aly as new Registrar

Lake Forest College welcomed to campus Mai Aly as Registrar on Monday, February 19.
Aly joins the College with more than 12 years of higher education experience in student services. She served as the Registrar for Wilbur Wright College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. She also directed offices of student records and registration at Rush University and Northwestern University.
“Mai has been praised for her analytical, organizational, and critical thinking abilities, her knowledge of policy and compliance issues, her superior work ethic, and her abilities to communicate with faculty and staff,” Krebs Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Tara Natarajan said in an email announcement.
Aly earned a bachelor’s in economics from Cairo University (Egypt) and a master of education, with an emphasis in education policy, organization, and leadership, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
“I am excited to join the Lake Forest College community because the College ranked #1 in the nation for social mobility and is among the best national liberal arts colleges for being committed to academic excellence in rethinking the relationship between liberal arts and career preparation,” Aly said.
Noting that the College honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging with students from 43 states and 120 countries and more than 40 languages spoken on campus, Aly said: “I am passionate about maintaining a high-performance work environment to provide an optimal student experience. I believe in bringing excellence and success to serve others well, so in turn, others will bring excellence when serving students.”
