Felkey, Dziadula ’07 research paper honored by American Economics Association

Lake Forest College Professor of Economics Amanda J. Felkey and University of Notre Dame Associate Teaching Professor Eva Dziadula ’07 will present their research paper on gender difference in student engagement at the 2023 American Economics Association (AEA) meeting in New Orleans, January 6–8, 2023.
Felkey and Dziadula will present their research paper, “Competition, Motivation, and Student Engagement: Does Gender Matter,” during the Economic Education Intervention and Outcomes session sponsored by the AEA Committee on Economic Education (AEACEE) on January 6.
An economics major at Lake Forest College, Dziadula went on to earn her MA and PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Prior to Notre Dame, Dziadula taught at Lake Forest College, UIC, and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (Baltimore and Hong Kong) and received awards for teaching excellence.
AEACEE is a standing committee of the American Economic Association charged with improving the quality of economics education at all levels: pre-college, college, adult, and general education.
The AEA, in conjunction with 64 associations in related disciplines known as the Allied Social Science Associations (ASSA), holds a three-day meeting each January to present papers on general economics topics. Over 13,000 of the best minds in economics are assembled to network and celebrate new achievements in economic research.
