Davis Schneiderman appears on Grateful Dead podcast
Executive Director of the Krebs Center for the Humanities and Professor of English Davis Schneiderman appears on the most recent episode of The Good ‘Ol Grateful Deadcast, the official podcast of the Grateful Dead, the iconic American rock band.
The podcast’s current season covers the 50th anniversary of the 1974 album, Wake of the Flood, song-by-song. One of several guests on The Deadcast, Schneiderman discusses his discovery of the song “Eyes of the World” in 1991. Schneiderman’s appearance begins at the 1:10:20 mark on the podcast.
Schneiderman has written about the Grateful Dead previously for Ravinia Magazine and The Huffington Post. He and Associate Professor of Theater Richard Pettengill hope to soon revive their popular American studies course, The Grateful Dead and American Culture, and both are currently preparing a paper proposed for the Popular Culture Association annual conference about the band’s appearance on a 1969 episode of the variety show Playboy After Dark.
