CBS interviews Courtney Joseph about DuSable’s Indigenous wife

K. & H. Montgomery Assistant Professor of History and African American Studies Courtney Joseph was interviewed by CBS News Chicago for an upcoming story about Kitihawa DuSable, the Indigenous wife of Chicago’s first non-native settler.
This Women’s History Month event will air on Thursday, March 30 at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., and throughout the day on CBS Chicago. After it airs, the interview will be available on CBSChicago.com.
Joseph has a growing presence as a public historian in Chicago, and she is excited to share her expertise with audiences on and off campus.
Joseph specializes in women and gender studies, African American history and culture, Haiti and its diaspora, as well as hip hop culture.
