Introducing Everfi

The faculty and staff welcome you to Lake Forest College! The growth that you will experience as a person, a community member, and as a scholar will emerge from a partnership between you and your peers, the dedicated staff, and the talented faculty at the College. As always, your commitment to yourself comes with a shared commitment to the health and welfare of others. Just as you have throughout your life, you will have a special opportunity to impact the lives of your peers in positive and productive ways, and we are committed to helping you do so in any way that we can.

This is why Lake Forest College has partnered with EverFi, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, and equity, inclusion, and diversity. As part of our comprehensive prevention program, Lake Forest College will expect each member of the incoming class to complete Part 1 and Part 2 of the alcohol abuse, sexual assault prevention, and diversity, equity and inclusion courses through EverFi online.

Whether you choose to use alcohol or not, “AlcoholEdu” will empower you to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and help you better navigate the drinking behavior of your peers. In the "Sexual Assault Prevention" course you will learn about healthy relationships, the importance of consent and being a good communicator, and the many ways you can help create the safe, positive campus you want to be part of. The “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” course will help students explore their identities, learn about power, privilege, oppression as a way to create a culture of respect and inclusion. Then, you will be prompted to take Part 2 of the courses several weeks later.

Important Information (please read carefully):
