Kayla Ahlstrand ’12  

Kayla is a junior from Grayslake, Illinois, majoring in biology and neuroscience.  She conducted research in Dr. DebBurman’s laboratory as a Richter Scholar and plans to continue her studies with her senior thesis.  Kayla is the seminar series manager of Beta Beta Beta, the Director of Communications and Records of Synapse, and a captain of the Lake Forest cross country team.

Shabana is a junior from Des Plaines, Illinois, majoring in biology and education. She has done research at Rosalind Franklin University of Science and Medicine working with both C. elegans and rats. She plans on becoming a secondary biology teacher.
