Notes from Abroad: Angelica in Argentina
Angelica '25, a SOAN and Spanish double major with a minor in studio art, is studying abroad this semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Studying abroad offers an unparalleled opportunity for personal growth and cultural enrichment. Having already spent 10 weeks in Argentina, it has been nothing short of transformative - as I've navigated the nuances of a new lifestyle, embraced challenges with resilience, and created meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds. Every moment has been a lesson in adaptability and discovery, so as I reflect on my experiences, I am reminded that studying abroad isn't just about academics (although I am still taking that very seriously) it's about embracing the unknown, stepping outside your comfort zone, and embracing the journey of self-discovery.
My favorite aspects of my program, AIFS Abroad, is the fact that weekly excursions are included and offered through the program, giving me the amazing opportunity to explore the unique, as well as the need-to-see places in Buenos Aires! Thanks to the Russel R. Taylor Foundation Scholarship, I have had the pleasure to explore much more of Argentina than initially expected. Being able to travel all over Argentina has been a dream come true: from Patagonia, to Iguazu, to Salta and Jujuy! I have already experienced so much diverse culture, variety of people, and vivid landscapes and views.
So, to anyone considering studying abroad, I urge you to seize the opportunity with open arms and embark on an adventure that will widen your perspective and broaden your horizons in ways you never imagined possible, because this is truly an unforgettable experience.
