Additional mental health resources to help students succeed.

Let's Talk    

Let's Talk is a program that provides easy access to informal confidential conversations with clinicians from the Lake Forest College Health and Wellness Center. Clinicians hold walk-in hours at a site outside of the Health and Wellness Center for students to access.  There is no appointment necessary.  Let's Talk is held during the Fall and Spring semesters when classes are in session. The 2023-2024 Let's Talk Schedule is as follows:

24/7 Mental Health Support

24/7/365 mental health support line for in the moment support from counselors and connections to next steps, regardless of the time of day or student location. Students can call 847-735-5300 to reach a licensed mental health counselor. The  https://connectwellnesshub.com/ includes articles and videos on mental health and wellness topics featuring diverse voices and stories. It is also a great place for students to learn about the services available and how to use them.

Faculty Guide to Supporting Student Mental Health- JED Foundation

The Jed Foundation (JED)  is a nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. They developed a guide for faulty on how to create a culture of care on campus. Topics included in the guide include: 

  • How to support mental health in the classroom (e.g., Syllabi statement: “If you are feeling stressed, worried, or down during the semester, or if you notice signs of emotional distress in someone else, please feel free to stop by my office or consider reaching out for support.
