6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Join us for the film screening and discussion.
Join us for a screening of the powerful true story of attorney Bryan Stevenson, who works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner. Before the screening, Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics Stephanie Caparelli leads a panel discussion with exoneree James Kluppelberg, who served 25 years in prison and faced the death penalty for crimes he did not commit, and Anthony Spaulding, an author, artist, and system-impacted graduate of Rogers Park’s Legacy Barber College.
Learn more about James Klupperlberg at the National Registry of Exonerations.
The panel will be followed by a screening of the film Just Mercy, the powerful true story of attorney Bryan Stevenson, who works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner.
