Foresters win 2022 MWC Men’s Soccer Title, advance to NCAA DIII tournament
The Forester men’s soccer team captured the 2022 Midwest Conference (MWC) Tournament Championship in dramatic fashion and earned the MWC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
In the first round of the tournament, Lake Forest travels to North Central College in Illinois to compete at 8 p.m. against St. Olaf College on Saturday, November 12. The team will be depart from campus at 2:00 p.m. from Halas Hall with a special send-off celebration.
The winner will advance to Sunday’s second round game and will take on the winner of North Central College and UW-Superior. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.

During the semifinal matchup on November 4, the Foresters were trailing 3-1 late in the game, when they cut the Knox College lead in half with just 48 seconds remaining and then struck again just 30 seconds later to tie the game and send it into overtime. The Foresters went on to secure the win with a goal during the second overtime period.
In the championship match against Grinnell on November 5, the game again came down to the final seconds, with the Foresters scoring the winning goal with only 20 seconds left in regulation, clinching the MWC Tournament Championship and punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament.
