How did you explore your interests and decide on a major/majors?

I chose what I was good at, what I was passionate about, and also chose what would potentially make me money.

Describe a moment or experience you had in college that helped define your career path:

That would be my internship at Morgan Stanley; I knew I was going into finance but I wanted more analytics so I pivoted to that type of finance.

What steps did you take at Lake Forest College to prepare for your career?

I utilized the Career Advancement Center, attended most of their networking events, networking on LinkedIn, coffee chats, and attained necessary skills for the role I was seeking.

What role did your internship play in shaping your career path?

My internship played a significant role; it was a name brand on my résumé.

What would you recommend Lake Forest College students considering a career in your field do to prepare?

This is very personal to each role and for each student; some require more internship experience, whilst others require more skills acquisition (like learning a language, learning to code, etc.)

How did the Department of Modern Languages, other department, Career Advancement Center and/or the Forester community give you an edge on taking your first steps after graduation?

Overall, it was about taking action. Lake Forest College, and many majors give you the blueprint and the knowhow to achieve your goals; you as a person have to work at it to be successful.

What have you found the most rewarding in your career and life after graduation?

I find very rewarding the times when I'm using something that I learned in college, applying it to my everday life. You will have moments of nostalgia and fondness for your time in college, which is really cool.
