Tracey Nassuna '23, a double major in Neuroscience and Psychology, is studying abroad at Nottingham Trent University in England.

Hello! My name is Tracey Nassuna and I am junior double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. I am studying abroad in the fall semester at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in Nottingham, England. Here I am taking Psychology classes, however one of the credits counts for Neuroscience as well. A major difference from LFC is that NTU has about 33,000 students hence the class sizes are much bigger. Additionally, my grade for the semester is determined by one final project or exam. I have found this to be both challenging and exciting as I must work independently and read a lot to keep myself engaged with my classes. My favorite class is the Psychology of the Paranormal which explores how we can make sense of paranormal happenings such as near-death experiences and alien abductions.

The most enriching part of my study abroad experience is the friendships I have cultivated with the people in my accommodation. We are mostly international students from different countries, therefore not only have I learned about English culture, but also about the cultures of my flat mates. Together we have travelled to other parts of the UK such as London where we saw the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, the British Museum and will soon be travelling to Scotland.

I would like to sincerely thank the Global Engagement Office and donors of LFC for making this a possibility and NTU for welcoming me and being my home for the fall. The lessons taken from this experience will be an important guide for the rest of my life.
