Events

We are proud to offer several events that reflect a dedication to social justice, a commitment to inclusion, and pride in the rich cultural diversity of Lake Forest College students, faculty, and staff.

In addition to the events listed below, we also host the First Connection Pre-orientation program in August and a Senior Celebration in May; both welcome students who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Undocumented, Students with Disabilities, First-Generation, and Allies. All events are open to all members of the College community.

Lavender Lunch

Lavender Lunch is a space for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty to feel seen and celebrated. Allies are welcome to attend. The event features tabling from Chicagoland community organizations and Lake Forest College departments with LGBTQ+ resources as well as guest speaker(s) and a performance. Open to all members of the College community.

Global Fest

Global Fest is a community-wide program that celebrates the global cultures that are represented on the Lake Forest College campus. 

Open to all members of the College community, Global Fest is an opportunity to come together and explore, learn, and offer support for our growing international student population.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Program

Each year, the Office of Intercultural Relations presents the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Program celebrating Dr. King’s life and legacy by centering actionable social justice initiatives.

When: January

Blackyard BBQ

With good vibes and delicious food, the Blackyard BBQ is a collaborative signature event that centers and celebrates our Black students and community members. This event offers Black folx a space to show up authentically. The Blackyard BBQ will feature entertainment by some of the College’s excellent, Black students! Open to all members of the College community.
