Department Assistant - Office of Academic Affairs
Lake Forest College seeks a part-time department assistant to provide administrative support in the Office of Academic Affairs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day office administration and support to include but not limited to, greeting visitors, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, etc.
- Updating the website
- Processing reimbursements
- Planning meetings and special events
- Gathering data
- Filing and data management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- An associate’s degree
- Proven administrative experience
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, plus an aptitude and willingness to learn new software and systems
- Ability to track budgets and expenses
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with students, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with project management
- Comfortable handling confidential information
This position is for 20 hours per week during the academic year (mid-August to mid-May with time off for holidays and College breaks).
($18/hr)
