Values/Ethics for Interprofessional Practice
1. The student has engaged with individuals in interrelated health professions and has observed and understood how they maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values.
Roles/Responsibilities
2. The student has applied the knowledge of one’s own role and those of other professions to understand the health care needs of patients and to promote and advance the health of populations.
3. If the student has conducted research, then the student understands how this research illuminate factors that shape the health of populations and the health care needs of patients and has considered the ways in which their research might be applied in the health care system today.
Interprofessional Communication
4. The student has observed and learned how health professionals communicate with patients, families, communities, and professionals in health and other fields in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of disease.
Teams and Teamwork
5. The student has observed or engaged in relationship-building values and the principles of team dynamics needed to perform effectively in different team roles to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient/population-centered care and population health programs and policies that are safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable.
