EDUC 418/518L Elementary Student Teaching and Seminar
The Education Department at Lake Forest College invites candidates with an elementary education background to apply for a part-time position in a highly successful, rigorous liberal-arts teacher licensure program, starting in Spring 2025.
Part-time Instruction for EDUC 418/518L Elementary Student Teaching and Seminar includes:
- School-based student-teaching supervision (observations and coaching)
- Communicating and meeting with cooperating teachers
- Facilitating once-per-week evening student teaching seminar
Required Qualifications:
- An earned master’s degree in education related area
- At least three years of experience teaching in self-contained elementary classrooms grades 1-6
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and anti-racist pedagogy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and/or providing professional development for pre-service or in-service teachers
- Experience in ESL, bilingual education, and/or special education
