Licensed Psychologist and Board Member, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Illinois Chapter
Dr. Dimple Patel earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University in Chicago, IL. Dr. Patel serves on the Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention— Illinois Chapter (AFSPIL) and is the co-chair of the DEI committee. In addition, Dr. Patel actively participates in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Community Walk as a committee member and team captain for Team Patel, which was developed in 2014 upon losing her mother to suicide in 2011.
Dr. Patel publicly assists in shedding light on the shame and stigma surrounding mental health issues across the board and within the South Asian community. Dr. Patel’s advocacy work began after her own struggles with mental health as she has made it her mission to normalize mental health issues while also being a working professional in the mental health field. In her down time, Dr. Patel loves to spend time with family, friends, and her two dogs, Brownie and Cookie.
