Lake Forest College, recently ranked the top liberal arts school in the Midwest, seeks applications for a communications specialist, primarily supporting the Office of Admissions. The College has experienced strong growth in enrollment and increase in brand awareness locally, nationally, and internationally.

This critical position leverages data and technology to creatively support the recruitment of prospective students and their families. This position deploys multiple communications strategies through email, print, and digital to ensure the right message reaches the right student at the right time. The successful candidate is excited about marketing to college-seekers, and ready to tell the Forester story in a brand-consistent way, across multiple channels.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging communication plans and measure the effectiveness for first-year, transfer, and international prospective student populations.  
  • Partner with the Office of Admissions to understand the admissions landscape and demographic trends to make strategic recommendations on marketing tactics to increase engagement and applications.
  • Create an engaging and relevant digital experience for prospective students and families on the web and in other digital experiences. This includes working closely with third party partners on programs like the virtual tour.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing to ensure that all recruitment materials, including print, are on brand and updated throughout the admissions cycle.
  • Use data to inform, test, and support the prospective student journey.
  • Support the Office of Communications and Marketing in other assigned projects and administrative tasks.

 

Required qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related area.
  • 2-5 years of marketing experience including content strategy. Can include internships and other similar positions and experiences.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, attention to detail, and presentation skills
  • Ability to think outside-the-box and create and execute innovative communications plans.
