My research will start with the background of the New Orleans Levee, including the history of the levee, the development of the levee, and the failure of the levee system in the Huricane Katrina in 1927. Based on the failure of the levee, I will analysis the contributors to tha disaster that are the failure in political management and the failure in engineering design of the levee. I will then provide a deeper research on the engineering design part, which includes the original design, new model, model testing, and the data analysis for risk management.
