DeJuran Richardson honored by top statistical science organization

Ernest H. Volwiler Professor of Mathematics and Senior Advisor to the President DeJuran Richardson is among a group of Black/African-Americans recognized by the American Statistcal Association (ASA) for their contributions to the field of statistical science.

Eight ASA members were featured in the Black History Month cover story of the ASA member magazine, AMSTATNEWS.

The magazine notes the honorees were selected for their contributions as mentors, professors, and entrepreneurs in the field. Biographies of each, which include how they entered the field, what they've accomplished, and how they built their professional careers, can be located here.

The ASA is the premier professional organization of statisticians within the US; it has over 19,000 members. The ASA represents and supports the varied interests of academic and non-academic professionals within the US across the broad field of statistical science.
