Notes from Abroad: Paige in Greece

Paige Thiel ’21 is a Religion and International Relations major who is studying at the American College of Greece in Athens.
Studying abroad has been one of the best experiences of my life! I have learned how to be independent, time management, and so much about Greek culture. Greece has everything a person could want. There are mountains, greenery, big cities, and beaches. Every new place is just as beautiful as the last. What is awesome about studying abroad at Deree is that they take you on five trips to places around Greece with the rest of the study abroad students. In addition, the classes I am taking while abroad are also awesome. I am currently taking Intercultural communication, sociology of deviance, middle eastern history, introduction to biology, and ethics. I have learned so much that I can take back with me to Lake Forest to continue enhancing my knowledge to improve myself in the field of international relations and religion. The Suzanne T. Hotchkiss Foreign Travel Grant that I received for going abroad to! Greece was incredibly helpful. I would like to thank President Hotchkiss for aiding in my ability to study abroad to enhance my educational experience.
