Community Standards and Student Conduct

Community Standards, which operates out of the Office of Student Affairs, seeks to balance the needs and desires of individual students with those of the community at large.  We aim to educate students not only about how to live according to community standards, but also about how to address their concerns and solve their problems in constructive rather than destructive ways.  Like other elements of life at the College, the judicial process is meant to be educational; punitive sanctions are reserved for particularly egregious or repeat violations.  When there is a clear loss to the community or to an individual, sanctions also seek to restore what was lost.
